Finding Nora Fries in Batman: Arkham City is a memorable side mission that highlights the tragic story of Mr. Freeze and his cryogenic wife. Players must track down her hidden location inside the heavily guarded district to complete the quest titled Heart of Ice. Locating her requires a mix of story progression, gadget utilization, and careful exploration across the dangerous streets of Gotham.
How to Trigger the Heart of Ice Side Mission
To begin the search for Nora Fries, players must first defeat Mr. Freeze during the main storyline inside the GCPD building. After resolving the conflict, Mr. Freeze will ask Batman to locate his wife, who has been captured by the Joker's henchmen. Accepting this request adds the Heart of Ice objective to your side mission map for tracking.
Once the mission is activated, a search zone marker appears near the Industrial District. Heading toward the southern region of the city map helps narrow down the exact building where Nora is kept. Navigating through the flooded areas requires extra caution due to hostile armed snipers stationed nearby.
Finding Nora Fries in the Industrial District
Nora Fries is located inside a heavily fortified warehouse along the southern waterfront of the Industrial District. The structure is situated near the docks where Joker's forces store contraband under strict security. Finding the correct entrance requires scanning the exterior walls facing the water for access points.
The main entrance to the building is locked and guarded by armed thugs patroling the perimeter. Players must slip past these enemies or eliminate them quietly from the surrounding rooftops. Locating a destructible wall or a waterborne entryway allows Batman to breach the facility without alerting the main force.
Infiltrating the Warehouse and Defeating the Henchmen
Inside the warehouse, players will find Nora suspended inside a cryo-chamber guarded by several armed thugs. Direct combat can be risky, so utilizing smoke pellets and silent takedowns is the most effective approach. Clearing the room allows Batman to safely inspect the chamber without causing damage to the delicate unit.
Using gadgets like the Freeze Blast or Remote Electrical Charge can help disable security measures in the surrounding room. Once all threats are neutralized, Batman can interact with the cryogenic container to register its coordinates. This confirms Nora's safety and prepares the final step of the side quest.
Reporting Back to Mr. Freeze
After finding Nora, return to the GCPD building where Mr. Freeze remains waiting. Informing him of her exact location fulfills the promise made earlier in the story. Mr. Freeze will express his gratitude and head out to reunite with his frozen wife.
Completing this quest provides valuable experience points and adds completion progress toward total achievement rewards. It also delivers one of the most emotional narrative resolutions found throughout the Arkham series.
